Three people suffered major injuries in a fiery crash on the Angeles Forest Highway in Los Angeles County, on Friday morning, December 27, 2024.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the crash occurred before 11:00 a.m. and involved at least two vehicles, including a Maserati sports car.
Emergency responders discovered the Maserati engulfed in flames on the side of the roadway. Firefighters extinguished the fire by 11:15 a.m. and rescued the injured individuals.
Three people were transported to a nearby hospital, including one in critical condition.
Reports revealed that the Maserati had crashed into the hillside, while a Toyota van, described as being driven by an innocent bystander, was heavily damaged and loaded onto a flatbed. A third vehicle, a Porsche, was parked nearby.
Authorities are investigating whether street racing between the Maserati and Porsche led to the crash.
California Highway Patrol officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
