[12-23-2025] Teen Passenger Dies After Two-Vehicle Crash at Long Beach Boulevard and Wardlow Road in Long BeachA 16-year-old girl died after suffering critical injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Long Beach on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the collision occurred around 8:20 p.m. at Long Beach Boulevard and Wardlow Road.

Officers arrived to find a 16-year-old female passenger and a 17-year-old male driver of a 2007 Saturn Aura. Both were transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Police later said they were notified that the teenage passenger died from her injuries on Christmas Eve. Her identity was not released due to her age.

Authorities said the crash involved the Saturn Aura and a 2021 Jeep Wrangler, whose driver was not injured and remained at the scene, cooperating with investigators. 

Preliminary findings indicated both vehicles were traveling southbound on Long Beach Boulevard when the Saturn attempted to change lanes and collided with the Jeep. Police stated that speed and distracted driving may have been contributing factors.

The crash remains under investigation.
