A big rig crash caused traffic disruptions on Interstate 5 in Glenn County early Thursday morning, December 19, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after midnight on the southbound side of I-5 near County Road 35, north of Willows.
A big rig carrying a load of potatoes collided with another vehicle, resulting in one person sustaining minor injuries.
The crash forced the closure of southbound lanes as crews worked to clear debris, including spilled potatoes scattered across the roadway. By around 3 a.m., one lane was reopened to allow traffic to flow.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
