[12-18-2025] Man Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run Crash at Ashby Avenue and Adeline Street in BerkeleyA man was hospitalized after a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Ashby Avenue and Adeline Street in South Berkeley on Thursday evening, December 18, 2025.

According to the Berkeley Police Department, the incident began just after 6:00 p.m. when an unhoused individual pushing a shopping cart in the roadway struck a passing vehicle.

Police said a passenger from that vehicle exited and was then injured when a white Honda collided with either the passenger or the stopped vehicle. Authorities reported that the Honda driver exited the car and fled on foot, and the vehicle continued rolling forward before striking a parked AC Transit bus at the intersection.

Police later determined that the white Honda involved in the crash had been reported stolen, and the driver has not been located. The driver of the vehicle, whose passenger was injured, transported him to a nearby hospital.

Authorities said the injured man was later treated at Highland Hospital and was expected to survive. No injuries were reported in connection with the AC Transit bus.

The investigation is ongoing.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
