One person was killed after a multi-vehicle crash along Palmdale Road (State Route 18) in Phelan, San Bernardino County, on Wednesday evening, December 18, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m., just west of Acanthus Street. The incident involved a white Toyota Camry, a gray GMC Yukon, and a black 2023 Ford Bronco.
Emergency crews initially requested a helicopter to transport an injured individual, but the request was later canceled. The injured person was transported by ground ambulance to Victor Valley Global Medical Center, where CPR was administered during the journey. Despite life-saving efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries.
CHP officers administered a field sobriety test to the driver of the Ford Bronco, an adult male. Following the test, the driver was placed in handcuffs.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the CHP Victorville office.
