A pedestrian sustained fatal injuries after being struck by a car in Newport Beach on Tuesday evening, December 17, 2024.

The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of East Coast Highway and Los Trancos, according to local authorities.

The pedestrian, identified as 38-year-old Patrick B., a transient, was struck by a westbound vehicle. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Newport Beach Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
