A child was killed, and three others were hospitalized following a car crash in Sacramento on Saturday morning, December 14, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. when a silver Lexus traveling northbound on the freeway spun out and collided with a tree near El Camino Avenue.
Authorities reported that the driver, a man, was accompanied by three child passengers. Emergency responders transported three occupants to a nearby hospital, where one of the children was later pronounced dead.
The extent of the injuries to the other passengers remains unknown. Officials noted that the accident happened amid stormy conditions, contributing to multiple spinouts across the region.
The identities and ages of those involved have not been released. The crash is currently under investigation.
