Two males were killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash on the westbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway at the Barranca Avenue on-ramp in West Covina early Saturday morning, December 14, 2024.
The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. when a 2021 Honda sedan veered off the roadway as it approached the on-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle swerved onto the right shoulder, sideswiped a metal-and-wood guardrail, and collided with a concrete slab and the metal pole of an overhead freeway sign before catching fire.
Both the driver and the front passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released. Investigators stated it was unclear if there were additional occupants in the vehicle.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
