[12-13-2025] Driver Arrested After Wrong-Way Injury Crash and Hit-and-Run in ReddingA driver was arrested after causing an injury crash while traveling the wrong way and fleeing the scene in Redding on Saturday night, December 13, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers were initially dispatched to reports of a wrong-way driver. While responding, CHP received another call regarding a traffic collision that resulted in injuries. 

Authorities said the driver struck another vehicle, causing injuries, and then left the scene. The exact location of the crash was not released.

With assistance from allied agencies, officers later located the suspect and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence and felony hit-and-run. CHP said officers found an AR-style rifle and a shotgun inside the suspect’s vehicle. The driver’s identity was not immediately released.

The investigation is ongoing.
