A man sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center after a two-vehicle crash in Hesperia on Friday morning, December 13, 2024.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Deodar Street and Jacaranda Avenue. The incident involved a gray Nissan Altima and a white Chevy pickup truck.
According to sheriff’s officials, the Nissan was traveling northbound on Jacaranda Avenue toward Deodar Street, while the Chevy was heading southbound on Jacaranda Avenue.
The Nissan attempted to turn west, leading to a collision where the Chevy broadsided the Nissan. The impact caused the pickup truck to overturn and land on its roof, while the Nissan sustained major damage to its passenger side.
San Bernardino County Fire responded to the scene and requested a helicopter to transport the Nissan driver. The man was taken by ambulance to Desert Valley Hospital before being airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital for further treatment. The young female driver of the pickup truck was uninjured in the crash.
The Hesperia Police Department is handling the ongoing investigation into the collision.
