![[12-11-2025] Six Injured After Head-On Crash on Ramona Expressway West of Lakeview Avenue Near Nuevo](https://ak1.to//18jx.webp)
Six people were injured in a head-on collision involving a pickup truck and a Kia Optima on the Ramona Expressway just west of Lakeview Avenue near Nuevo on Thursday afternoon, December 11, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. The pickup and sedan collided and came to rest on the eastbound side of the expressway. Initial reports indicated all traffic was stopped, though a westbound lane was later reopened. Eastbound lanes remained closed as of 2 p.m.
Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived within 15 minutes and found several victims in the roadway, with others still upright. Officials identified six total patients, four of whom were transported to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley with moderate to major injuries. The remaining individuals declined further medical attention.
A SigAlert was issued at 2:14 p.m. due to the eastbound closure and resulting traffic backup. Lanes were expected to reopen by 5 p.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
