A crash involving an 18-wheeler and a pickup truck caused significant lane closures and debris in Cactus City, Riverside County, on Wednesday morning, December 11, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 10:50 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 10 near Mile Marker 71, about halfway between Indio and Chiriaco Summit.
Emergency crews, including multiple CHP units and an ambulance, were dispatched to the scene shortly after.
The crash left major side damage to the pickup truck, and both vehicles pulled over to the right shoulder. The injury status of both drivers remains unclear.
CHP officers are investigating the cause of the collision.
