A collision between a sedan and a water tanker left one person dead and three others injured, including a two-year-old, in Tulare County on Monday afternoon, December 9, 2024.
The Visalia California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Highway 198 near the Highway 99 interchange.
The sedan was traveling eastbound on Highway 198 alongside the water tanker when the two vehicles collided for reasons that remain under investigation.
The Tulare County Fire Department shows the sedan overturned and lodged underneath the tanker.
Authorities confirmed that one individual died at the scene. Three other occupants, including a two-year-old, were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries ranging from mild to moderate.
CHP officers continue their investigation into the cause of the crash.
