[12-05-2024] Child Airlifted After Being Struck by Vehicle in ModestoA child was airlifted after being struck by a vehicle in Modesto on Thursday evening, December 5, 2024.

The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of Kansas Avenue and Reno Avenue when the child, estimated to be about 8 years old, was riding their bike.

Paramedics and the Modesto Fire Department responded to the scene and found the child injured in the roadway. 

Due to the severity of the injuries, the decision was made to airlift the child to a pediatric trauma center. The extent of the child’s injuries was unknown as of Friday morning.

The Modesto Police Department is investigating the incident, but no information has been provided regarding whether the driver was arrested or cited.
