A boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a box truck while riding an e-scooter in Menifee on Thursday afternoon, December 5, 2024.
The collision occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Craig Avenue and Evans Road, according to the Menifee Police Department.
Spokesman Chase Coburn stated that the juvenile was riding the e-scooter northbound on Evans Road and entered the crosswalk to cross Craig Avenue when he was struck by a westbound box truck.
The driver of the truck immediately stopped and waited for law enforcement to arrive.
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics treated the teen at the scene and transported him to a regional trauma center for further treatment. He was recovering as of Friday.
The investigation is ongoing.
