A bystander was injured, and a dog was abandoned following a hit-and-run collision in Mission Hills, Los Angeles, early Monday, December 2, 2024.
The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the 14600 block of Maclay Street.
According to police, a white Ford Expedition struck a wall, after which the male driver fled the scene on foot, leaving his shoes behind and taking two dogs with him.
A third dog, identified as a chihuahua, was left in the truck. Neighbors discovered the abandoned dog and wrapped it in a blanket until authorities arrived. The chihuahua was later transported to a local animal shelter.
The bystander who was injured during the crash received medical attention. No arrests have been made, and the driver remains at large.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information to contact the police.
