A 71-year-old cyclist was critically injured after being run over by a white car in East Ventura on Sunday evening, December 1, 2024.
The Ventura Police Department reported that around 5:21 p.m., a caller found the cyclist lying in the roadway near his bicycle. Moments later, a white vehicle, possibly a Lexus, ran over the downed man near Foothill Road and La Fonda Drive.
The driver, described as a woman in her 70s, and a female passenger in her 20s, exited the vehicle but did not assist the victim or call for help. Instead, they returned to their car and fled before emergency personnel arrived.
Investigators determined that the cyclist fell after colliding with an object on the road just before being struck. He is currently in critical but stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
