[11-30-2025] Two People Injured After Vehicle Crashes Into Business and Sparks Fire on West Main Street in Santa MariaTwo people were injured after a two-vehicle crash sent a car into a business and ignited a fire at 214 W. Main St. in Santa Maria on Sunday morning, November 30, 2025.

According to the Santa Maria Fire Department, crews responded around 7:40 a.m. after a Honda ended up inside a business along West Main Street and caught fire. 

Battalion Chief Anthony Morales said the fire was confined to the vehicle and the entrance area of the structure, causing surface damage to the building and the vehicle itself. A commercial structure fire response was initiated, and crews made a quick, aggressive attack to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby businesses.

Authorities said two occupants from one of the involved vehicles were transported to Marian Regional Medical Center with injuries of unknown severity. It was not immediately known whether the building’s alarm or smoke detectors had activated. The Santa Maria Building Division was notified to assess the condition of the structure.

Santa Maria police are investigating the circumstances of the crash as a felony hit-and-run after one of the drivers fled the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
