[11-30-2025] Six Injured After 13-Year-Old Driver Crashes Into Telephone Pole on Hill RoadSix people were injured after a 13-year-old unlicensed driver crashed a Volkswagen Jetta into a telephone pole in the 2400 block of Hill Road in Lake County on Sunday night, November 30, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported shortly after 10:00 p.m. after a caller reported hearing a vehicle spin out and roll. 

CHP said the teenage driver had five passengers: a 20-year-old woman, a 17-year-old male, a 12-year-old male, a 15-year-old male, and a 16-year-old male, all local residents. 

The vehicle struck a telephone pole, which was left severed and hanging from its line. Due to weather conditions, air ambulances were unavailable.

CHP reported that the 13-year-old driver sustained a broken ankle. The right front passenger suffered a broken arm and leg, and the right rear passenger sustained a broken leg. The remaining occupants had minor injuries. A dog in the vehicle was also injured and transported to a veterinary clinic for treatment. 

CHP said the primary crash factors were unsafe speed for conditions and the driver being unlicensed, adding that none of the occupants were believed to be wearing seatbelts.
