Two pedestrians were injured after being struck by vehicles on southbound Interstate 5, south of Templin Highway, Los Angeles County, on Saturday afternoon, November 30, 2024.
At approximately 4:16 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers responded to a property damage-only crash on the right shoulder of the southbound I-5.
Following the initial crash, traffic began to slow when a Ford pickup truck traveling in the No. 1 lane lost control and veered onto the right shoulder, colliding with a red SUV.
Both vehicles then struck the pedestrians, who had already exited their vehicles from the earlier crash.
One pedestrian was airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in critical condition, while the other sustained injuries. The condition of the airlifted pedestrian is currently unknown.
The collision is under investigation by the CHP.
