Several people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 15 North near the Gopher Canyon Road exit in San Diego County on Thursday afternoon, November 28, 2024.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred shortly after 2:10 p.m. and involved three to four vehicles, including a gray Kia Soul, a maroon Honda Pilot, and a red Nissan pickup. Witnesses stated that one SUV overturned, landing on its roof in the center divider.
Emergency responders, including firefighters and paramedics, arrived at the scene by 2:22 p.m. to provide medical assistance and clear the debris. Initially classified as a non-injury hit-and-run, the crash was later upgraded to a major injury incident.
The collision caused approximately 20 feet of guardrail damage, and tow trucks were dispatched to remove the disabled vehicles. Traffic was temporarily reduced to one northbound lane, causing significant delays that extended back to Camino Del Rey.
The cause of the collision is under investigation, and further details about the injured parties have not yet been released.
