A 27-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving a Ford F-150 near the intersection of Douglas Drive and North River Road in Oceanside on Wednesday morning, November 27, 2024.
The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. when a 33-year-old Oceanside man driving a silver Ford F-150 made a left turn into an Am-Pm gas station. The motorcyclist, riding a black Kawasaki sport bike and traveling southbound on Douglas Drive, collided with the passenger side of the pickup truck, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
The impact ejected the motorcyclist from his bike. He was transported to Tri-City Medical Center with life-threatening injuries but was pronounced dead shortly after.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities noted that speed may have been a factor in the crash. However, alcohol or drug impairment was ruled out for the driver of the F-150.
The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is ongoing.
