A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a U-Haul truck in Stanton on Tuesday night, November 26, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Magnolia Avenue, just north of Katella Avenue.
CHP Sgt. Micah Workman reported that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Magnolia Avenue when the U-Haul driver attempted a U-turn from near the curb. The motorcyclist collided with the driver’s side door of the truck.
The U-Haul driver fled the scene on foot after the crash, leaving the truck behind.
Investigators do not believe the driver was an employee of U-Haul, according to Officer Duane Graham.
The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending notification of family members.
CHP is actively investigating the incident and encourages anyone with information to contact authorities.
