A woman was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run SUV while crossing Avenue I near Kingtree Avenue in Lancaster on Monday evening, November 24, 2025.
According to Det. Ryan Ament of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, the crash occurred around 5:14 p.m.
Preliminary findings indicated the woman was walking southbound across Avenue I outside of a marked or unmarked crosswalk when she was hit by a silver Honda SUV traveling westbound on Avenue I. Authorities said the driver did not stop or contact law enforcement.
The woman was transported by ambulance to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. It was not yet known whether speed or impaired driving were factors in the collision.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
