A 27-year-old Corning man was killed in a head-on collision involving a Freightliner tractor-trailer on Antelope Boulevard near Saint Mary’s Avenue in Red Bluff on Sunday night, November 24, 2024.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:10 p.m. when a 2014 Honda, traveling westbound on Antelope Boulevard, drifted into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2019 Freightliner pulling a 53-foot box trailer.
The Freightliner was being driven by a 33-year-old Clovis man, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Honda’s driver, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification, was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The CHP reported that driving under the influence of alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
