A motorist was killed after his speeding vehicle rear-ended a Jeep Cherokee near Long Beach Boulevard and East San Antonio Drive in Long Beach on Saturday evening, November 22, 2025.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash happened around 7:00 p.m. when a northbound 2005 Nissan Altima struck the rear of a 2018 Jeep Cherokee.
The impact caused the Jeep to travel across the pedestrian sidewalk, hit a fire hydrant, and then collide with a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban in a nearby parking lot. Officers arriving at the scene found a man inside the Altima, and paramedics pronounced him dead.
Authorities said the drivers of the Jeep Cherokee and Chevrolet Suburban remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police noted that speed and impaired driving were being investigated as possible factors.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
