A 16-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a reckless driver near the intersection of Fir and Second Streets in Westwood, Lassen County, on Wednesday afternoon, November 20, 2024.
The incident occurred around 1:00 p.m. when a gray, four-door sedan entered the intersection and began doing “donuts.” During the reckless maneuver, the car struck the teen in the leg, causing him to fall to the ground.
The driver sped away without stopping to offer assistance or exchange information. The teen, who refused medical treatment, left the scene after his parents arrived.
The California Highway Patrol’s Chester Resident Post and Susanville Area office are investigating the incident.
