Two men sustained injuries, one critically, following a two-vehicle collision in Shafter early Monday morning, November 18, 2024.
The Kern County Fire Department responded to the crash at approximately 5:50 a.m. near Highway 43 and Merced Avenue.
Emergency personnel discovered one male with moderate injuries, who was transported to a local hospital via Hall Ambulance.
Another man was trapped inside a Chevrolet pickup truck and required extrication. Firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle to free him. He was transported with major injuries to a nearby hospital.
Shafter police officers and the California Highway Patrol assisted in the response and are investigating the cause of the collision.
