A bicyclist died after being struck by a car in San Carlos on Saturday morning, November 16, 2024.
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to the collision at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Holly Street near the Highway 101 overpass.
First responders located the victim, a woman, with life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity until her family has been notified. The male driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is leading the ongoing investigation into the incident.
