[11-11-2024] Wrong-Way Collision on Highway 135 in Orcutt Leaves One Critically InjuredOne person was critically injured in a wrong-way collision on Highway 135 in Orcutt, Santa Barbara County, late Monday night, November 11, 2024.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the crash occurred around 9:40 p.m. near the Clark Avenue southbound off-ramp. 

Authorities stated that the wrong-way driver was traveling northbound on Highway 135 when his vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle.

The wrong-way driver, a man in his 40s, sustained major injuries and had to be extricated from the wreckage. He was transported by AMR ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria. His identity and further details about his condition were not immediately available.

The driver of the other vehicle, a man in his 20s, declined medical treatment.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
