Four people were rescued after their jeep went down an embankment off a dirt road in the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area in Shasta County on Saturday afternoon, November 9, 2024.
The incident occurred on a dirt road off John F. Kennedy Memorial Drive, heading toward Brandy Creek. The group was traveling alongside another jeep, but when they lost contact with the second vehicle, they returned to search for their friends. They found the jeep down the embankment.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the jeep, which had a driver and three passengers, veered off the road, causing moderate injuries, including head lacerations.
One person was transported by ground ambulance, while three others were airlifted to local hospitals for treatment.
CHP Sgt. Potter noted that the jeep had simply gotten “too close to the edge” of the road. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
No further details were immediately available.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
