A 29-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Mira Mesa Boulevard in San Diego early Saturday morning, November 9, 2024.
According to the San Diego Police Department, officers were called to the scene at approximately 1:52 a.m. at the intersection of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Westmore Road.
A 31-year-old man driving a 2023 Tesla was traveling westbound on Mira Mesa Boulevard when the pedestrian, who was crossing against a red light, ran in front of the vehicle and was struck.
Emergency personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the incident.
The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is currently investigating the cause of the collision.
