A woman was killed, and three others sustained injuries after a two-vehicle DUI collision in Rancho Cordova on Friday night, November 8, 2024.
According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the crash happened near Douglas Boulevard and Borderlands Drive.
Authorities stated that the accident involved at least two vehicles and resulted in the woman’s death at the scene. Three others in the same vehicle—an adult and two children—were transported to the hospital with minor injuries and are expected to survive.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 33-year-old man was arrested and booked into Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of felony DUI and alcohol-related manslaughter. Although initially labeled a “possible hit-and-run,” no hit-and-run charge was listed in jail records.
The suspect is being held without bail and is scheduled for a court appearance on Wednesday.
The Rancho Cordova Police Department, staffed by sheriff’s deputies, is leading the ongoing investigation.
