A driver was killed, and another driver was injured after a two-vehicle rear-end crash on the eastbound 60 Freeway in Ontario early Friday, November 1, 2024.
The California Highway Patrol received a 911 call around midnight reporting the crash involving a vehicle and a tow truck stationed on the shoulder while loading a stalled vehicle.
Emergency personnel arriving at the scene found the driver deceased on impact following the rear-end collision. The tow truck driver was transported to a nearby hospital with a possible broken leg. It is unclear if the vehicle being towed was occupied at the time of the crash.
CHP officers closed the number three and four lanes to investigate the fatal incident.
