A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a truck in Penngrove, Sonoma County, on the morning of Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
The crash occurred at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Old Redwood Highway and East Railroad Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities reported the motorcyclist was speeding southbound on Old Redwood Highway, illegally crossing over double yellow lines to pass multiple vehicles before reentering the southbound lane.
A pickup truck exited a private driveway to turn left onto the highway, at which point the motorcyclist attempted to brake but collided with the truck’s left front side, resulting in the motorcyclist’s ejection and fatal injuries at the scene. The truck’s driver was not injured. The motorcyclist’s identity has not been released.
The investigation is ongoing.
