A 40-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in the Midway District of San Diego while walking in a crosswalk with a red don’t walk traffic signal on Wednesday night, October 30, 2024.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 9:34 p.m. at the intersection of 3700 Camino Del Rio West and 3000 Kurtz Street.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the woman was crossing when a dark-colored vehicle with a green light traveling northbound struck her. The driver fled the scene following the incident.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, sustained fatal injuries. Authorities have not confirmed if DUI was a factor. The investigation is ongoing as police search for the hit-and-run driver.
