[10-29-2026] Contra Costa County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Pickup Truck Near El Sobrante

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a pickup truck near El Sobrante in Contra Costa County on Thursday night, October 29, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident involving a red Chevrolet S-10 occurred around 8:02 p.m. at San Pablo Dam Road and Hillcrest Road in an unincorporated area. 

CHP reported that a large crowd gathered at the scene. Contra Costa County Fire Protection District requested additional sheriff’s personnel because vehicles were reportedly speeding through the area.

Authorities had not publicly identified the pedestrian or released further details about the circumstances of the incident Thursday night.

The investigation remains ongoing.
