A 26-year-old man from Marysville was arrested on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter after his passenger was ejected and died in a rollover crash near Lincoln on early Tuesday morning, October 29, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the scene around 1:20 a.m. on northbound Highway 65, north of Nelson Lane.
The investigation revealed that the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel off the right shoulder and overturn. A 24-year-old woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. The driver sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
CHP officers suspect that alcohol may have played a role in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
