A single-vehicle crash left a 3-year-old passenger dead and others injured on Greenhorn Ranch Road near State Route 70 in Quincy, Plumas County, late Sunday, October 27, 2024.
The collision occurred just before midnight when 40-year-old Ingrid B., driving a 2003 Ford northbound with four passengers—three children aged 2, 3, and 9, and a 12-year-old—unexpectedly swerved onto the shoulder, hitting a tree on the passenger side.
All occupants sustained injuries ranging from minor to severe, while the 3-year-old tragically suffered fatal injuries. CHP noted that at least one occupant was not properly restrained at the time of the crash.
CHP confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
