[10-26-2024] One Dead After Two-Car Collision on I-580 in OaklandOne person was killed after a two-car crash on Interstate 580 in Oakland on Saturday afternoon, October 26, 2024.

The California Highway Patrol reported that around 3:10 p.m., a white Toyota Camry rear-ended a truck on the eastbound side of I-580. 

The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck’s driver was uninjured, and both vehicles were occupied solely by their respective drivers. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.

The collision remains under investigation, and it is currently unclear if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
