A woman was killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer in Solano County early Sunday morning, October 25, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 12:50 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80, just east of the Cordelia Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility scales.
Officers arrived and found the woman dead at the scene.
CHP said the driver of a 2015 Peterbilt truck pulled into the scales, apparently believing he had struck a box or another object.
Investigators inspected the truck and reported radiator damage and physical evidence linking it to the incident.
CHP determined that the 59-year-old Oakley driver struck the woman in the No. 6 lane, the far-right lane, after merging onto I-80 from State Highway 12.
Authorities did not believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
