A 79-year-old man has died and several others sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle crash in Rio Vista on Friday afternoon, October 25, 2024.
According to the Rio Vista Police Department, the collision occurred at around 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 12 and Church Road.
Officers arrived to find three vehicles blocking the roadway. One of the vehicles, a truck, had crashed into a fence on the south side of Highway 12, while two other vehicles remained on the road.
The 79-year-old man was transported to North Bay Medical Center in Fairfield, where he was later pronounced dead. Two additional individuals were taken to the hospital, though their conditions remain unknown.
The Solano County Sheriff’s Office announced a closure of Highway 12 between Druin Drive and Summerset Road from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday for further investigation.
