A 19-year-old man from Castaic was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing into a tow truck and being found passed out behind the wheel in Valencia in Los Angeles County, early Sunday morning, October 19, 2025.
According to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, deputies responded around 5 a.m. to reports of a collision at the intersection of Magic Mountain Parkway and McBean Parkway.
Officials said a pickup truck had rear-ended a tow truck, and the male driver was found unconscious inside the vehicle.
Deputies knocked on the window several times to wake the driver and observed signs of alcohol intoxication upon contact. Field sobriety tests were administered, and the driver’s blood-alcohol content was determined to be nearly twice the legal limit.
The 19-year-old suspect was arrested on misdemeanor DUI charges, booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail, and later released the same day with a pending court appearance.
No injuries were reported in the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
