A car passenger was killed and another person was seriously injured in a suspected DUI crash on Interstate 80 near Hilltop Drive in Richmond early Sunday, October 19, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:10 a.m. and involved a BMW 440i and a Toyota Prius.
A rear passenger in the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver sustained major injuries.
The driver of the BMW suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
No additional information has been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
