[10-18-2026] Alameda County, CA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Reported on I-880 in Fremont

A fatal collision involving multiple vehicles occurred in Fremont on Sunday morning, October 18, 2026.

The initial crash involved a disabled vehicle and was reported shortly before 4:00 a.m. on southbound Interstate 880 and Mission Boulevard.

Within less than an hour, the incident reportedly expanded to involve as many as eight vehicles.

Three tow trucks were requested, and the Alameda County coroner was notified.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at around 6:00 a.m., with lane blockages and closures reported.
