[10-16-2025] Big Rig Crash Closes Lanes on 605 Freeway Near Valley Boulevard in Avocado HeightsA crash involving a big rig and several vehicles shut down multiple lanes on the 605 Freeway and also affected traffic on the nearby 10 and 60 Freeways during the Thursday morning commute in Los Angeles County, October 16, 2025. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported just after 6:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway near Valley Boulevard in the Avocado Heights area. 

The crash sent a van over an embankment, resulting in a Sigalert for the closure of three lanes, leaving only the HOV lane open to traffic.

Delays quickly built on the 605 Freeway, affecting traffic on the 10 Freeway to the north and the 60 Freeway to the south. The Sigalert was expected to last until nearly 9:00 a.m., but delays were expected to continue much longer.

Motorists were urged to take alternate routes. No injuries were confirmed at the time of reporting.
