[10-13-2026] Butte County, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash Reported on the Esplanade in Chico

A two-vehicle collision shut down part of the Esplanade in Chico on Tuesday afternoon, October 13, 2026.

The crash occurred at around 12:52 p.m. at the intersection of 9th Avenue and the Esplanade.

According to the report, a vehicle traveling westbound on 9th Avenue entered the intersection without a green light and sideswiped a southbound white Honda CR-V that was turning right.

Police, emergency medical personnel, and firefighters responded to the scene.
