A man was killed following a collision involving a gray Honda CR-V and a blue Ford F-150 on eastbound Highway 4 in Antioch early Sunday morning, October 13, 2024.
The crash was reported by a California Highway Patrol officer at approximately 5:13 a.m.
According to CHP’s investigation, the Honda CR-V was disabled in the fourth lane when it was struck from behind by the Ford F-150, causing the Honda to catch fire.
The Honda driver, trapped inside, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ford driver was hospitalized with injuries and is expected to recover.
Authorities confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
