One person was killed, and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 101 near Canyon Road in Geyserville, Sonoma County, on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol in Santa Rosa, the crash occurred around noon when a Honda Accord with four male passengers lost control while traveling southbound at a high speed in rainy conditions. The vehicle crossed the median, which had no barrier and collided with a northbound Subaru Outback.
The Honda overturned, and one passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Two occupants in the Subaru, which included a mother and her baby, were transported to a nearby hospital. The baby appeared to be uninjured, while the condition of the others remains undisclosed.
All northbound lanes on Highway 101 were closed until approximately 4:30 p.m. as CHP conducted their preliminary investigation.
