A female cyclist suffered fatal injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Alamo, Contra Costa County, on Wednesday morning, October 9, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s Contra Costa office, the incident occurred at approximately 11:12 a.m. on Livorna Road under the Interstate 680 overpass.
An adult female bicyclist was traveling westbound on Livorna Road when she was struck by a black Toyota bZ3X, which had been parked on the right shoulder. The male driver of the Toyota entered the roadway, crashing into the cyclist.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, but the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was unharmed.
The crash remains under investigation.
